We are a term time sessional preschool for children aged 2-5 years where the emphasis is on making learning fun!
At The Cherry Tree Pre-school we aim to maximise learning potential by providing a fun, exciting and stimulating environment which encourages and promotes well being and unlocks every child’s inquisitive mind.

Meet Us
At The Cherry Tree Pre-school we have a highly qualified and thoroughly experienced early years team headed by Nursery owners & managers Sheenal Mithani and Karen Luma, who combined have over 18 years of teaching & management experience in outstanding educational settings across London. We share a passion for early years education and strive to attain the highest possible standards for your little learners. We know to get the best from them, they need to be happy and open to learning. We aim to achieve this by making every day stimulating and as much fun as it can be!

Registration
There is a one time registration fee of £25 upon signing up.
Minimum Sessions
Children must attend a minimum of three core hour sessions or two extended sessions (Early Start, Late Finish or Full Session) per week.
Deposit
A deposit of £250 is required once you accept a place at our pre-school. This will be refunded against your final term’s fees or refunded in full provided one term’s notice is given.
Funding
All children are eligible to receive the government funding nursery grant for the term following their 3rd birthday for up to 15 hours a week or for some eligible parents up to 30 hours a week. We also offer the 2 year old funding for 15 hours per week dependant on eligibility.
Our Facilities
Our nursery is more than just a place for childcare—it’s a close-knit school community where every child is cherished. Our intentionally small class sizes mean that teachers can give each child the individual attention and nurturing they deserve, creating those special bonds that help children truly flourish. The cosy environment also helps children feel safe and secure. You’ll often find little groups engaged in intimate play sessions, sharing stories on soft cushions, or gathered around tables for creative activities—all while receiving the warm, personalised care that comes naturally to our welcoming and friendly teaching team.
Within our preschool setting, we have two classrooms, each designed with a specific age group in mind. We also have a kitchen area for cooking activities, as well as an outdoor play area and nature garden.
Explorers
Welcome to our Explorers classroom, where curiosity blooms and adventure awaits!
In this warm and nurturing space, our youngest learners, aged 2–3 years, discover the world through play, movement, and hands-on exploration.
Our specifically designed learning space fosters your child’s natural desire to explore the world around them. Through hands-on play, music, movement, and gentle guidance, our little explorers develop essential social skills while building their independence.
Our experienced teaching team creates a fun, stimulating, and safe environment where each child can grow, make new friends, and take their first steps into the world of learning. Each day brings new opportunities for discovery as we sing, dance, tell stories, and embark on sensory-rich adventures together. We understand that every child develops at their own pace, and we celebrate each small step on their journey of growth and learning.
Creators
Welcome to our Creators classroom, where young minds come alive!
Our carefully designed environment for children aged 3–5 years combines play-based learning with carefully planned, adult-directed activities and creative exploration. Through fun-filled, hands-on exploratory play, music, art, cooking, finger gym, puzzling, and storytelling, children feel stimulated and challenged whilst developing early literacy, problem-solving, and social awareness skills.
Our experienced educators foster a nurturing atmosphere where children learn to care about the world around them and each other. Positive role models, caring teachers and fine attention to detail support the creation of highly individualised planning where curiosity, imagination and learning can flourish.
Nature Garden
Here, little ones can discover friendly insects in our bug hotel, dig and uncover what lies beneath the soil, and learn about growing their own fruits and vegetables in our raised vegetable patch.
This tranquil space encourages children to develop a deep connection with the natural world and observe the seasonal changes that unfold throughout the year.
Children’s Outdoor Play Area
The pre-school's child-friendly, all-weather play area offers a safe and stimulating environment for young explorers. Children can dig and build in the sandpit, zoom around on ride-on vehicles, and get messy in the mud kitchen.
A cosy sensory den provides a quiet retreat, while the charming pagoda house encourages imaginative play. Budding engineers can test their skills in the construction zone. This versatile space promotes physical activity, creativity, and social skills as children build and design projects together.

The Cherry Tree Pre-School occupies the ground floor of the Friends Meeting House. Ideally situated in the heart of Muswell hill, just off Muswell Hill Road. Our nursery is well served by public transport, only a stones throw to the nearest bus stop. Short stay free parking is available on Church Crescent so dropping your little one off needn’t be a hassle.
